  1. I have to agree. I love the early Blondie, but she should consider knocking it on the head. This reminds me of Diana Ross at Glasto who suffered similar struggles with the vocals. I think a lot of people defended that performance on the grounds that her IEM were not working correctly.

Long time user of D’Addario EXL170’s so interested in these.

Do you have a link to the place where you got the deal please?
    Cheers.

Got them on a facebook market place group. Amazon are offering 29% off at the moment so if they are any good I might buy another pack.

That's because Adam is not Irish. He was born near Oxford and his family moved to Ireland when he was 5. The Edge is also not Irish and was born in Essex to Welsh parents and moved to Ireland when he was 1. Only Bono and Larry are Irish.

Ah! Well you live and learn. 😄

  4. Nice looking amp. He says its primarily a pick playing rock bassists amp, but it is quite flexible for different genres (Or words to that effect)

But at only 50w thats gonna struggle down the Dog And Duck with my dad rock band. 🙂

    A bit pricey too!.

BTW why has Irish accent turned American?? ☺️

Yes, some others have used this combo like that. The only issue may be that the short speaker cable won't reach an amp placed on top of the combo. You can either open the combo up and replace it with a longer one (may require soldering skills) or buy/make a female to male jack speaker extension cable (may require soldering skills).

Are you referring to the quarter inch jack on a short wire? Is that the speaker input jack? I noticed that, hence my question. 👍

Ditto, apart from the previously noted problem that ended up being a smoothhound problem mine's been fairly bomb proof.

I did hear that the CMD combos could suffer from overheating problems (due to insufficient ventilation in the design) which is why I went down the separates route with an LM top and 2 x NY121 but I don't know how much truth there is in this.

Yes. I had the combo for 7 years and it has never let me down until now.

  7. While at rehearsal last night, my trusty old CMD 121 started smoking quite badly. It was coming from the vent at the rear of the unit.

I turned it off and unplugged it and had to use an old Peavy that the studio owned.

This morning I rang the amp repair guy that the guitarist uses.

He told me that he cant touch it because Mark Bass don't release their schematics to outside repairers, and can only be fixed my a Mark bass professional.

    Is that true?? 🤨

  8. I always wanted to drive the London Underground tube train that I used to travel to school on.

Back in those days (The mid to late 80's) they couldn't recruit enough staff because of the unsociable hours etc.

Most young lads my age would rather be out clubbing at midnight on a weekend than working.

I applied for a job and got one as a train guard and was a fully qualified tube driver within 18 months.

The whole thing changed when they abolished the Guards job and left the driver on his own. We did get a wage rise though.

I did 34 years on it and took early retirement a few months ago in April.

So I did get my dream job in a way. 😊
