I've a choice of three amp heads, all of which I'm happy to gig. A Peavey probass 500, an early '80s Trace AH350SMX12, and the one I'm currently using most which is a Genz Benz Streamliner 600 - they're going into an EAD Foundation 2x12 (a handbuilt custom cab with a 4.5" upper mid driver and a 1" horn too). It's a very Hi Fi cab, thought I also have a 6x10 combination of Hartke (4x10) and Trace (2x10) and an SWR Triad (1x15, 1x10 and horn) available to use too.

So... If I got myself the MXR Envelope filter and, say a Darkglass B3k and used the built in compression on my Trace head - which has a valve front end that I can push hard - I'm gong to get close, yes?

Food for though. Expensive but I can have hours of fun dicking around with them later, I suppose...

    Thanks.

I love the hybrid pre section and the built in dual band compression on my SMX head.
I also stick a octaver into said heads high pass fx loop and keep it on at ALL times just to add some serious beef, you should try it!
As far as a filter goes, I'd recommend the Digitech BSW , it has a lot of tricks up a its sleeve for such a cost effective little pedal.

  2. Just copped this last week and as great as it is (we all know what these do!) I think I'm gonna let it slide.
I'm asking what I paid £115.00 incl of same day special D
Trades I'm interested in would be a reissue bass whammy, or a standard whammy V
    Hit me up!

I'm very interested in one of these but there are no videos to refer to online, unless the Bass Bomb Driver is a near enough equivalent for comparison?
If anyone here is able to do a clip I'd be most appreciative!

Not got my audio PC set up ATM (just moved house) but in the studio with my main band next month and I'll DEFFO be using the SC!

  4. Recently copped one of these from the legend that is Martin Owen.
He promises (for bassists) muff sounds and more and bway he does NOT lie!!
SMOKES any muff I've ever played through, including my OG Sovtek. In fact, I just sold my (awesome) Fredric Green Russian clone, as after copping the Owen, it REALLY was surplus to requirements !!
    This pedal absolutely SLAYS!!!!
From subtle warm, organic overdrive to face melting distortion, it does the lot!
The 12AX7 tube, mids control and boost really make it the absolute f*cking b*llocks!!!!
That's all I have to say, just wanted to state my case and big up Mr Owen!!

  5. No explanation needed here
THE best incarnation of that famous distortion circuit around.
This one has the awesome second distortion circuit and a cool feedback switch for you noisemakers !
I don't really relish the thought of being without this pedal but I just can't justify keeping TOO much dirt since I copped a Swiss Army Knife Owen Space Charge and I'm desperate need of octavers!!
POG' or Pitchforks with some cash or a a Mooer tender are top of my lists.
    Thanks in advance

    now a silly £70 ovno

no internet so please text on 07963564683

  6. Williams Audio modded my MINT Boss DS1 for me a few weeks back with what they have christened the Trumpton mod, theoretically turning into the DHSS1 (half man half biscuit fans will understand)
Procuring an Owen Electronics Space Charge distortion has given me the freedom to move on a little dirt so I can continue on my octaver quest (long story lol) including this awesome sounding little fella!!
Will actually be sad to see this one go! :(
    Awesome sounding, no Velcro etc
Only trades : Micro POG , Pitchfork with cash your way or a Mooer tender Octaver
    One Love x
