Moog MIDI MuRF

hey fellas Just wondering if any of y'all are curently using one of these beasts in their live set up........?? I don't think I can take the G.A.S pains any longer lol but I'm still curious what my fellow chatters make of it.. I think it will make a valuable addition to my MF102/102/107/201
  4.
I've been using an ibanez weeping demon for about 10 years or so. It's a wah which has settings for both bass and guitar, but I find I'm using the guitar setting as it really gives me the 'scream' I'm looking for.
I used to have a Weeping Demon. It's a great pedal!! If memory serves it was ridiculously cheap and worth every penny, very tweakable and obliterated the Morley dual bass wah I'd owned prior to that. The only reason I sold it was because I got an MF 101.
  5.
For a fatter sound I boost the mids, and for dubby I roll off the tone pot on the bass.
^

    Phaser

I used to own a Moog 12 stage which (like all foogers) was incredible but I just couldnt justify the expense a second time on another one so a Small Stone Nano was procured. It does it's job well.
  7. I just brought one of these a couple of weeks ago from a chatter. Have a bump on me because SR16's are awesome
  8.
How's the freqbox for you? I'd love to see how it interacts with the LPF and what is possible. If it's funky I'm gettin one
It's an awesome module. It does take some getting used to but once you've 'tamed' it , it slays!!! Compression before it helps tracking as does an EQ pedal with the treble cut and bass boosted. I run fuzz pedal(s) both before it (WM & Oxide) and after it (Mastotron) before it hits my LPF, the freqbox makes fuzz pedals come alive and mutate!! An OC2 with all direct signal off sounds great in front of it also. I use an expression pedal in the Freq, Env & Waveform , run the oscillator out into the carrier in of the MF102 and all sort sof crazy sh*t BUT it does subtle too, its awesome as an overdrive and the mix control allows fo a plethora of understated sounds. I've also had a blast running our drum machines through it. I'd massively recommend one my friend. Then start looking at the MF102
  9.
Which Q-Tron did you try? The new ones aren't great, but the old big box one and the seemingly-mistitled-because-it's-massive old Mini Q-Tron are a different kettle of fish. I prefer my Mini Q-Tron to my TruTron 3X (which is widely regarded to be a pretty much bang on clone of the original Mutron 3 with extra features). The old Q-Trons were designed by Mike Beigel of Mutron too!
I had an old big box Q-tron that Martin Owen modded to tame the volume spike and add TB and an LED etc and it was a killer, the down sweep especially was thunderous and the effects loop was SUCH a great feature. I DO actually miss that thing come to mention it!!!!
  10.
I bought a Moog Low Pass Filter last week - this thing is ludicrous. I've owned all sorts of envelope filters and this one is the king. It is so warm, thick and squelchy, but it can do theremin and laser gun sounds. Couldn't recommend it enough. Getting an expression pedal today!
Thats when the REAL fun starts Also get a TRS patch cable (or 2 or 3 or 4) and experiment, try patching the env out to the cutoff etc
  11.
I'm looking at freqboxs now. And ring-mods. Dammit Moog.
Yup, I got the ring mod next.. then the freqbox.. then the MP 201
  12.
Never tried a Moog - now I must!
Be careful, Moogerfoogers are VERY addictive!!! The LPF was where it all started for me too.
  13. I always thought the BB pre gave a little mid hump (its basically a tubesreamer design no??) while on the subject ;run a BB into an EHX BBM ; its killer

  18. Thanks fellas.. I got the EMU working again so I'm all good..
  19.
I would save your money, unless you want to get into RME interfaces.
Out of my price range dude..
  20. I just recently had to build myself a new audio PC , mine went kaput and I waved goodbye to XP and my trusty old EMU 1820. I was always happy with the converters etc (although I brought a new mic pre but I digress) To replace the 1820 Im thinking of getting the Steinberg UR22 interface Simple is good, I dont need any other inputs so on paper it ticks boxes. Any of you guys use it or would recommend me something similar and/or better. I'm going to be using it primarily with guitar so latency needs to be spot on. It really is a jungle out there so any help would be most appreciated
  21. Matty is a TOP geezer to do business with! I brought a Mastotron offa him and it arrived at my house before I did!!!!! Excellent comms throughout, wouldnt hesitate to deal with the man again
