1. Bump! Must be some people out there looking for a super J, no?
2. Bought this bass new from Mark at Bass Direct in the summer of 2012. Retails at £2200 Reason for selling: need a new car and so having to raise funds. Bass is in good condition, few little dings as shown. Upgraded to the Trilogic2 Preamp after purchasing due to a fault which caused batteries to drain too quickly. Recently upgraded jack socket. Pickups are the xotic own brand, not the Lindy Fralin ones which were were available as an option. Does NOT have the hum reduction feature. Used this bass on a lot of jobs and always complemented on the sound. Comes with supplied xotic branded gig bag (the shoulder strap feature is broken, unfortunately). Will throw in the MONO strap, because I'm nice like that Can deliver in Northwest but will consider further afield if there is someone interested! 3. Bought this bass from PMT in Manchester in 2011 (£270) as I needed an older sound to complement my 5 string. However, shortly after I got hold of a USA Fender Precision from a seller on here and so this hasn't seen much action. As I need to raise money for a new car this is one of the things that needs to go to a new home! An old video of a work in progress cover of a Snarky Puppy tune using this bass: Bass is in very good condition, no major scratches or dings. Collection in Merseyside area or can deliver for a try out. Work in Manchester and Birmingham regularly. Jamie
4. Just to add - the other part of the puzzle. The reason it would be a D7 in the first place is a device called secondary dominants, you cool with that?
5. Hey Matt. Hope you're well. Careful in particular with the Ab7 - that's a tritone substitution so does't really work as a V for a ii-V. So, a tritone substitution means Ab7 is replacing D7 - a tritone away. The reason it works is because the 3rds and 7ths are shared, although switched around. So if you wanted a ii-V feel but with this substitution then it would be A-7 followed by Ab7. Jamie
6. Based on the C altered scale? But then the G natural in the lick doesn't really fit with the chord (which has G#, or Ab as it's written).
7. Great feel - I knew you would have when I saw your head and shoulders move
8. Sounding good, and certainly funky! If were to offer any advice then be careful not to rush your notes. It's difficult, especially with a physical technique like slap which can appear to require more motion or rigidity in the right hand, to relax sometimes. However, the feel (as in how urgent or laid back you are) is really important. Try playing it but sitting back on your chair, relaxing as much as you can, as though it doesn't really matter. Sounds silly but just a frame of mind like that might help you 'sit back' in the groove rather than jumping in too early with some of the attacks. Let me know if it helps :-) Jamie
9. Really good work! Aside from comments made already, I think there's a final variation on the chorus that you're missing (if memory serves me right) - it appears for the whole of the second chorus and for the last half of the third and final chorus. It's just a little tweak on the first chorus pattern whereby you go up the minor 7th in bar two of the 4 bar phrase, rather than back to the minor 3rd. I might be mistaken but have a little listen.

11. Hello, Selling my Squier Jaguar now that I have upgraded to Fender USA Standard Precision. Originally bought from PMT in Manchester just after they came out, autumn 2010. Was a back up bass for me so took a while to realise that there was a problem with neck. Had the whole thing replaced in November 2011 and have hardly touched it since. I believe there are now Jaguar Specials on the market, this is not one of those, it's the originally released one, black with very nice matching headstock and tort pick guard. Has P/J configuration and jazz neck (slim). Looking for £220 collected, which I think is a good deal given they retail nearer £300 and this is practically new. I'll throw in the PMT standard-issue 'Black Rat' gig bag and can fit new strings if required. Still got factory ones on and they're a bit rough. I'll also chuck in the Fender strap that came with the USA Standard I recently purchased, if you like. I live in Greater Manchester. I would consider driving if necessary. Thanks for looking! Will add some photos as soon as I can. Jamie
12. Just bought Steve's US Precision to fund his hopefully successful Lakland purchase! Communication was excellent and responses swift, reassurance given where necessary. Steve was very flexible with arrangements for collection, taking the bass to work so that I could collect at my convenience throughout the day. Everything was as described, in great condition and with all the accessories, pretty much as new. Had a nice chat with him and left very happy, buy and sell with confidence.
13. Thanks Steve! Appreciate the effort in starting this for me, and the kind words. Bass is great, very happy. Had to put round wounds on though, sorry :-p I'll do yours now. Jamie
