1. Hi I've bought a Z5 some weeks ago and I'm wondering what preamp is in this bass. I've opened the back cover but I can't see who's the producer, it only has writen "G & B co." Does anyone know what is this? I like the sound, but I have a spare bart XTMB-918f that was the pre from my Tobias Growler which was replaced by a OBP3 and I'm thinking about installing the bart into the Z5...?? Sorry for so many questions in one time. Hope to hear your opinions.
2. Well guys....I have a BB605 and imho was the best bass for this price yamaha had ever made. The electronics are just wonderful and I don't know a recent model with a similar sound. I had a rbx800a and nothing to compare with BB605...
3. My worst bass was a Tobias Growler 5 (gibson era) I'm saying "was" because I made some upgrades on electronics and now it sounds...well.....not so bad! But the original setup has nothing to compare with the Tobias from Tobias himself. Even my old Ibanez Roadstar is better than this one...
4. No problem... here you have it. Sorry for low quality
5. Hi people Just an update to this post. I've decided to go to the MTD Z5 and I have now it at home. The sound is not bad even on 5th string. Actually it has a very nice slap and is much better than my Tobias Growler 5. For now I'm very happy with it but I'm gonna gig the first time only next week. Let's see how it plays.
6. Thank you guys for your opinions. unfortunately I've missed the deal with the MTD, now only BTB is available. I'm not sure if btb is a good solution for what i'm expecting, so I think my GAS has to wait
7.
Just a bit of porn. Just to add from above, playing this bass acoustically just confirms that it not only looks nice but its a dream player. Set up with Dean Markley Rocco Prestia strings. Came with the bass, maybe the best strings i have come across.
Just beautiful!!! How is the sound comparing with the original electronics setup?
8. Hi. Thanks for your feedback Actually I've played the BTB675 and it sounds very good, but it is a little bit heavy. I don't have a shop here to test a MTD, so the idea is to buy online without testing it. It's a risk I know. Lakland are more expensive and at this moment are not on my budget...
9. Hi people. I'm new here, so be gentle..! I'd like to have your opinion about a decision I need to make. I going to buy a new bass but I'm not sure which one the best between Ibanez BTB675 and MTD KZ5. Both are in my GAS list and the prices are similar, but the only one I've played was the BTB, don't know the KZ5 except from what I read. My "kind of bass" should have a deep and strong sound and have a good slap. Give me your opinions and help me to make my mind.
