Well I'm not gunna lose any sleep over it put it that way, but a discussion about a particular brand of bass guitar has somehow ended up in an argument... Again
-
This thread went from a really good one to one that absolutely sucks.

I've already seen a bass that I really want, unfortunately it doesn't have the purpleheart laminates but it'll still be a top bass , also it's at the top end of my budget

Is the squier classic vibe/vintage modified the best way to go? -
Jaydee guitars do a fantastic job, and are real cheap too!

Gb spitfire: thought it would be a great modern jazz, but couldn't get on with the neck, shame as it was stunning to look at and to listen to
The opposite is the Kingbass artist: after wanting one for years I got one and it's exceeded my expectations so much -
Oh my god that's nice

We all like what we like... I've had jazz basses, musicmans, ibanez, fleabass etc, just so happens I like the basses and sounds that marks had

I think he sounds very different on all his basses. My favourite was his Alembic sound. Not overly keen on his Kingbass sound, which is far too pingy for me.

Lets not get off topic -

Bear in mind Marcus, if you are Mark King aficionado, that the Alembic MK model bears only a scant relationship to the actual Alembics Mark King plays. His basses are far more upmarket examples. The only thing the more standard versions of his signature model have in common is that, for some reason, they have his name associated with them . Not that any of that makes much difference because, lets face it, Mark King makes all his basses sound the same, anyway. His playing style is a great leveller.

Yeah he played 2 medium scale series 2 basses , I just may consider getting a mark king signature, aparently they have a bit more useable tone and obviously the price, even second hand is like half -
Loved my 5 string! Would buy another if one came up
-
Thanks again guys so far , that alembic club is very good! Lots of information and lovely pictures not doing my gas any good at all!
-
Great playing , and lovely sound!
Hadrien has become one of my influences in recent times, absolutely love his version of I can't help it from a music show a few years back, it's on YouTube check it out -
Thanks for the opinions so far guys , one might be on it's way later in the year, so just thought I'd build up expectations

If anyone has owned or played one I'd love to hear your verdict
