    Probably a dumb question for you jazz'ers out there: How would you go about making one chord--Dm7 in this case--sound i[b]nteresting[/b] for 8 bars? --what percentage of the chord tones would you use?--passing notes?---playing in a scale'ic way? --obviously knowing the scale of Dm7 inside out. Look forward to your knowledgeable replies.

    Can anybody recommend a non-condenser mic. for the DB? Anyone tried the 'H' clamp-made by Explor Audio?--Does it work well?

    Many thanks for your replies. Thanks for the info. about the Wilson K4 pickup. The strings that I have tried vary from 'Newer to older'. When you mention 'design length' do you mean that only use--for example---a 3/4 length string on a 3/4 bass? Am I correct in thinking that strings with different windings & different cores will give different tonal & volume output?--so if you 'mix & match'---like a lot of bass players do--- you are bound not to get a matchable sound from the strings.

    I have noticed an inbalance of volume when using strings from different makers--would a graphic EQ sort out the inbalance problem? If so what graphic EQ works well for you?

    Has anybody experimented with bridges on their [b]solid body EUB?[/b]---that is bridges made from different hardwoods. Notice any difference in tone between the woods used?

    Regarding an extension cabinet would there be a loss of sound/quality between a 10 meter cable and a 5 meter cable?

    Years ago I recorded my own backing tracks on a Fostex[b] Cassette[/b] multi-track recorder. Unknown to me at the time and after mixdown to a CD, the tape was running about a half a tone flat. My question is: Can the results on the CD be transfered to a CD to the correct pitch---440.? If so,who would I get in touch with?

    If anybody requires to fit a jack to the DB tailpiece Basschat'er 'bassace' can supply a small attachment that you mount onto the DB tailpiece that does just that. Very easy to fit---works well.

    Does anyone know where I can obtain [b]aircraft stranded stainless steel cable[/b] in the UK --for fixing DB tailpiece to end pin?

    Does anyone know where to obtain in the those 1/4" jack socket 'holders' that fix to the DB tailpiece so you can plug the amp lead into? I think they attach to the underside of one of the ball end strings. Or know of any other method available? Thanks
