  1. For what it's worth, I think it's a pretty nice board, not too far off what I'll have when I assemble either.

The oxide and rat tail arent doing it for me

If you decide to shift the Rat Tail, please give me a shout as I'd really like to get my hands on one.

  2. Great choice on the G5, I bought and sold mine on this forum and miss it dearly - wasn't using it though. An incredible pedal though and fortunately the price hasn't hyperinflated like that of the Deep Impact.

You mean you had some respect for them in the first place ?

Ha well I remember as a young teenager buying it in the run up to Leeds festival to try and figure out who would be playing. I say buying, I mean borrowing, I was always more of a Kerrang reader - though that's another weekly that's gone down the pan, around the time of the first wave of american emo bands (shudder shudder).

  4. Might I suggest you get a MicroKorg instead? I know it's not a keytar but it has such an infinite array of sounds and applications. Most keytar players that I've seen just seem to use them as MIDI controllers and instead get their actual synth sounds from an external unit, I don't know if that's indicative of the sound quality of the lower priced keytars, but it does seem that many offer quite limited parameter control of patches.

  5. I need to try out a Grabber at some point. And inevitably I'll end up with a proper Thunderbird at some point as well. I love my Jazz but there's something about my powerful Thunderbird that I just can't escape.

  6. Nice pedal selection - you may want to try the compressor before the octaver, could improve the tracking. Downside of course is that you won't be able to make the filter react in the same way to your dynamics.

  7. Had a search, on Harmony setting you get a wet/dry mix, on pitchshift setting it's a full shift. No independent control over dry/wet balance but it is tiny and obviously has lots of other shifting options other than just -12/-24. It is true bypass AND polyphonic too:

  8. Free bump for a cracking pedal. Despite having a lot of pedals and recently clearing out the non essentials I'm still hanging on to my AX3000B because it is just so good and so versatile. Don't use it often but when I do it never disappoints.

  9. Apparently it's just pure Entwistle in a pedal - sounds good to me!

Youtube video demos are few and far between, here's one but the audio quality is pretty crappy:

  10. I was always like this as well, even when an audience member would give me a compliment - I don't know why, but I don't think there's anything particularly outstanding about what I do as a bass player, I just try and fit in with the band as best I can!

I don't get why blues rock means you can't use any fx? I used to play blues rock & used fx.

+1 I see no reason why fuzz, chorus, reverb etc. wouldn't fit in nicely. I'd definitely be using an octaver.
