Welcome mate. I am in Dorset so not so far from you. I played with some guys from SA way back in the 80s. They'd basically escaped the regime and were political exiles. The BBC did a documentary on them, a programme called "Open Space". Anyway i got really excited and when the BBC turned up they didn't want to feature me as i was English :)

Anyway, enjoy the site its informative, funny and annoying all at the same time.

Was that band called Day One? I saw them in Blandford, they were excellent.

  2. Welcome :)

Might be worth pointing out, you will get a lot of people asking "where are you?" in your For Sale threads, so you might want to put a location in your profile. Good luck!

It looks like it has a tight radius on the fingerboard which is carried over to those lovely chunky pickups, so I wonder whether is has some kind of eub capability - or is maybe designed to be bowable.

That might also explain the rather odd position of the jack socket.

  4. And to my great surprise, fernandobicho is also selling one here:

Anyone inspired by his thread could do worse than to have a look at a cheaper alternative :)

Already we know of one member (not a mod) who created a separate profile so they could like their own posts under the other profile and then asked why we were taking issue with their posts when they were liked so many times...but my lips will remain sealed...they know who they are.

Someone set up a sockpuppet? Really? Wow.

He doesn't get to see you have disliked him. The system is anonymous for everyone apart from admin.

    Okay, thank you.

How do you see nationality influencing the rep system?
    [/quote]

If you live in (example) Malta, your opportunities to meet Basschat members are limited, and few people will trade with you ("sorry mate, UK only"). The net result of that is that people who live outside the UK will seldom have many Likes.

  7. Okay, how transparent is this? If I decide that I want to Dislike my old opponent Dickweed70286995995, does he get to see I've Disliked him? Or does he just have an anonymous running total of people who hate him?

Generally I don't like the idea of a rating system, because IMO it tends to freeze out the non-British members.

If we have to have this, could it be arranged that the specific post which the Like or Dislike is set on is available to members generally to see?
Or maybe some sort of reason should be required when posting a Like/Dislike; that would let people link to specific posts if they wanted (and we would quickly catch on if they didn't).
