Eden 2x10 cab needs new horn…. North West….. anyone know anyone?
Thanks in advance

Like most people, I always have a spare, that never leaves its case. I haven’t broken a string in decades. To be honest, now I’m making the move to tiny class D amps, I’m more likely to carry a spare one of those than anything else. I’ve had more trouble with amps than basses over the years.

Nice….. I have my eye on one too.
The burrs on the scratch plate is common with these, don’t know why, but it’s an easy fix. Great little basses once they’re tarted up a little.

Apart from the backdrop falling down halfway through the gig…… 😆
Yeah, Schecter Model Ts are awesome. I had 3…. That black and white one was really nice.

Our guitarist has the lead version. It was one of Hugh Mansons early guitars. Mike had it custom made by Hugh in a black/white diagonal paint job and it’s been his main guitar ever since….. that was around 40yrs ago I think….
This picture was 10yrs ago….. I miss those Schecter Model Ts I was using then.

Yeah having looked closely at the pictures, all three of those anomalies look like blemishes/faults in the grain of the wood. Naturally occurring, but should not be present on a new instrument without serious discounts.
You’ve done the right thing

Awesome, really awesome basses those early BBs, I've had a few over the years. I had a beautiful BB3000S that I've regret selling many times over.

You have absolutely every right to send it back yep...
Would I have sent it back..... probably not from what I see in the pictures. If it was a sizeable scratch in the finish I would, or a sizeable ding, but from what I see there, I'd have probably ignored it. You're right though, it should be perfect from new.

Great basses the M series, very versatile

Looks like an absolute banger, nice design features, build looks decent and it sounds good? Win.

We’re only doing bars and pubs these days, the big venues are behind us, so this should do the trick….. but yeah, upgrading next year is always an option

Sounds like the well loved Markbass CMP121 combo + NY121 cab would be a perfect size/weight/volume/flexibility fit.... it's not very Ashdown-y though.
Yes, I had that exact rig. About 10 years ago, bought it new from Promenade Music In Blackpool. I sold my beloved Ashdown EVO2 stack to buy it. I regretted it soon after. The Markbass was a beautiful thing, light, great build quality etc…… but my “grunt” had gone. I hated the sound and sold it all a few months later.

Again…. this is a temporary rig, until I get the time and money to get what I want.

Personally I would avoid that cab as it will be under rated and sound terrible if pushed to be heard.
There are many better cabs out there, this isn’t one of them in my opinion.
As it’s a 4ohm cab you can’t add a second cab either so potentially a waste of your money.
I would seek out one of the low cost Laney or Ashdown cabs in 8ohm format rated to 300w per cab
Yeah agreed, I’m pulling out of the sale.
I’ve been messaging the seller since this morning with no response, asking exactly what it is. I should have asked before bidding I guess.

Yes you said it was a 2 x 12 (two 12" speakers) but it is actually 2 x 10 (two 10" speakers).
I’m an idiot
I was looking at 2 1x12 cabs… probably where the confusion was

Mystery solved... it is a 2x10.
I said 12 didn’t I ? 🤦🏻♂️

The current owner is a bass player, and has been using it as such….

I’ve had combos since the 80s. So all this watts and ohms shizzle is new to me, all I ever thought about was how loud it was. Big and loud was always the requirement. To be honest I’ve always been sceptical about tiny amps and speakers. It’s illogical to me…. everything has always been big and heavy.
-
So as the head is 500W, is it likely to damage a 350 rated cab? According to reviews, what TC claim is 500 is probably more like 400 in reality with this unit. It’s all mumbo jumbo to me to be honest

I haven't heard a bad D class amp yet.
Well I’ve gone for a modest D class to start with, the reviews are good, and it’s small, so it ticks all the boxes for now.

Not sure I've ever seen one of those!
Me neither….. hopefully it’ll work. It wasn’t expensive at all, but then this is a cheap temporary set up.

So as I’m in a rush, and I wanted something for the next gig, I’ve gone for a temporary measure. A used TC BQ500 and a Peavey 2x12 4ohm 350W cab. I understand that the TC output is probably realistically closer to 400W anyway. So that’ll do as a temporary setup, but the search for a proper rig will continue in the New Year

Oh right….. please do tell us your findings
