1. :) Cheers guys, all good advice/points and also encouragement, got the first lesson on the 29th,been picking it up for about a couple hours daily and noticing small benefits, fingers are stronger and ive no fingerprints left barely, which works out nicely for the bank job im planning to finance my cabs etc, wife thinks im losing the plot a bit as apparently after a night out i got out of bed to use the bog and she found me sitting in the kitchen nude twanging away(on the bass that is)its been great fun esp since the weathers sh*tty and i dont get the bike out much.good helpful place this forum is....
  2.
I still use mine as my hifi amp 26 years after I bought it. Yes, there are better amps, but you have to wander up into multiple £100's. I do not need another, but how much?
Sorry forgot to put a price, its lying doing nothing so £25 or swap for something i could use for my bass(current bass related things are, bass, strap, tuner n bag)so anything useful.

  3. Dont know if its any use to anyone just thought if it is indeed 1963 one of you guys that collect ancient lumps of wood would be interested.

  4.
I like his add, I think it's aimed at the kind of folk who might buy that particular bass. Good fun, and different from the norm.
Seems your right,3 bidders up to now...Rambo,B A Barrachus and Private Pike from Dads army.

  5.
Hey folks,

Well, it has been quite some time since i've posted here last.

A lot has happened - from getting my dream rig, to touring the UK with the band. Unfortunately the latter is what put all the nails in the coffin. It was such a positively awful experience i wouldn't have wished upon anyone. Further to that, i've decided to concentrate on studying and i just can't juggle the two. Not to mention i've recently gone through an upheaval of moving house since. It has been a busy few months, of which i didn't keep up with very well. In fact, i've let a lot of people down and really disappointed myself in doing so.

I just thought i'd post because i'm in a bit of a situation regarding my gear. Do i sell it all, keep some of it or keep it all? It took me ages to get a Mesa 400+ and my rig sounded really incredible. I'm in need of money though, to kick start saving/investment. What is the best way to approach my situation? I'm only 20, experienced being number 58 in the German album charts, have made lots of good contacts and met lots of great people, not to mention i am quite sure i still have plenty of fuel in the tank. Help me good people.

    Cheers
    Jamie.
Getting rid of yer possessions(esp something you love doing)isnt a good idea,i done similar yrs ago with my bike(kwack zzr11 which my wife had bought me) cos id been made redundant and felt guilty cos we had the 6 boys and the car was shagged out....in her words it turned me into "a mumpy b*****d"and never solved anything domestic-wise long term......keep yer gear other solutions will arise.

  6.
The 775 stuff might be useful to me, do you know what models the mobos are?
kind of,one a Asus P5GD1-FM
other two are similar spec but havnt tested either of them, the asus is working and still sitting with a skt 775 2.9ghz cpu/fan.

  7. All good sound advice guys,i lost a 3 month old laptop due to being too trusting/nieve tit,i was only here a day when i sold the T40(but stuck to your guidelines here, posted pics, serial num etc)and even better traded luckily enough with a member less than 20 miles away in person, internet theft pisses me off for some reason more than normal theiving, its not only the cash value your losing its the fact somethings taken from you that youve saved hard to get for some junkie b******d to rip off and flog to a secondhand shop for a fraction of the value.all finished ranting now :)

  8.
Great to meet you Dougie, loving the T-40! Popped a 2-way switch in to replace the broken one (turns out it's a phase switch) and everything's sounding good now. Will give it a proper clean-up and new strings ASAP and put it through its paces at next practice.

Hope you enjoy the Ibby, it's a sweet little bass & I'm probably going to miss it! Any problems or anything you need a hand with, let me know.

And your little lad's a diamond!

Once again guys thanks for all that pm`d me,its now in the hands of Bassassin who i met up with earlier and swapped with some cash(my way) for a mint Ibby,Thanks Jon.......great guy to deal with, offered me use of his sound room etc to try it out and even entertained my hyperactive 6 yr old who was making me s**t myself with his "must touch" "whats this?" "whats that?" antics, pleasure meeting you m8,best of luck with the T40 :)

Update on this guys, meeting up with Bassassin this weekend, had good offers from a few of you(and appreciate it)but Assassins minutes down the road saving posting etc...plus his Ibanez is the same colour as my bike lol  (Yam R1)

  12.
Whereabouts are you? I see from your intro post you're in Scotland - I'm in Edinburgh so if you were interested in my Ibby we might be able to meet up.

Otherwise, I'd recommend whipping off the strings, unbolting the neck, bubble-wrap both bits thoroughly & then bung both bits in a sturdy cardboard box, packed out with loads of scewed-up newspaper.
