Saw a guy playing one of these on Saturday. Had a really bright tone that cut through the whole band. Good luck with the sale !

You can get some nifty Kodak ones from poundland

Hi, I'm interested in these but a little ignorant about pickups. What kind of style are they suited too. Do they have a distinctive sound ?
Thanks -

i think these rsb models were the 'starter' sb's. correct me if im wrong. nevertheless, an awesome looking (and im sure sounding) instrument -
ahh shame man. that auction was only up for a couple of hours then! silly seller with a buy it now or best offer, that could easily have gone for £350-400

pick up a westone thunder! in your price range, and in terms of materials, build quality and tone nothing even comes close for under £200. the neck through models are rarer, but worth looking out for. not sure if its your bag but heres a very nice fretless one, wont be around for long trust me

howdy pedal freaks, if i could pick your brains for a moment that would be great
what i want is a stomp box noise gate, with an audio trigger that i can use to gate my bass to the kick drum. i dont want to rely on sound men for this, can anyone recommend a pedal?
cheers -
I've used Spetrasonic's Trilogy many times. Some very nice sounds in there.

EDIT: Trilogy has been discontinued and replaced with 'Trillian' which I've not used.
+1 for the trilogy. the best thing about it is that they took the time to record lots of classic analogue synths, so it sounds pretty naiiiice -

I would advise to buy used gear. Might not be all shiny and conveniently delivered in one big box, but you will get a lot more for your money. Also if you do some research and choose carefully, your items should hold their value if you ever want to upgrade, weras reselling unknown starter gear like that would be difficult and you might take a bigger hit in your wallet.
Hope this helps, best wishes
