  1. Now withdrawn

hey there, as stated this is an overwater progress 3 deluxe

i have the pics for you and i'm after £1200
19mm string spacing at bridge, 36" scale (which is suprisingly easy to get used to) and provides a lovely tight low B, jack and xlr outs

comes with case and schaller strap locks

let me know any other info you may want!

i'm based in derbyshire, about 10 mins from M1 J26

would rather not post, but can at buyers expense. i've met a few of you off here, and i assume i'm good to do trades and sales - no negative feedback so far!

reason for sale? sounds awesome and easy to play but not the right image and my main bass is difficult to switch to and from due to resting my thumb on the pickup

only damage i can see is bridge (pictured) and some very light buckle rash on the back, to the point i couldnt photograph it! negligible really!

    enjoy!

  2. i tried one in a shop in notts - sorry matey, but it was awesome! sounds unbelieveable for the price, i like the look, but having never played another thunderbird, i dont know if the neck dive was massive or not!

compared to more normal shaped basses the neck dive is what stopped me from buying it, i know there are mods you can do, but i cant see that bringing it to a point where it would be useable for me!

quite a wide nut width for 5 strings i usually play, but very comfortable none the less, tension on the b aint great, but dealable, and i have to agree its a fast neck!

i believe you can pick them up for about £350 - absolute fookin bargain, if you can deal with the shape!

apologies to the OP - hows your gas? lol

  3. change of plan! i may be able to attend, that days gig was cancelled!

if i can make it, is there much parking, easy load in? how much stuff to bring? do we have to pay on the door or is it just beer money?

    cheers all!

btw look at my sig to see if theres anything in particular needs bringing along, if not i'll just bring my gigging rig!

theres a crown xls602 and spector legend 5 custom to add to that too!

  4. i played a gig where there was 4 bands on, i was the only one that didnt use the rb9 - but i can honestly say it sounded nice for the others - there was a blues band, a strokes esque band and an all out metal band - hows that for variety!

pretty small too compared to the shallow rack system i was using!

  5. does anyone have an opinion on the nexus range? sorry if i'm thread jacking, but they look ace!

i have an ampeg 115 thats fantastic, but I like the look of the nexus range, and was thinking 2 15s and a 410 for my distorted top - will the nexus compare to the ampeg 15 at all?

    cheers

  6. i do this all the time!

the sansamp has a -20db pad switch, but i like to drive it a bit harder. From what i understand, there are various stages of gain within a bass/amp/pedal situation anyway.

there are guitar pedals at least designed to do just that! i think the only problem is if you drive it too hard! but with a 500w amp and appropriate speakers, you'll never struggle to get over a drummer driving the gain a bit harder than designed!

just consider it to be running a little more "hot", which is the aim behind active basses anyway!

  7. I've found that with a 210 plus 115 set up, you need to feed them with different signals, otherwise they clash, gives a certain sound but certainly not the sum of it's parts! I crossover and there is a difference, especially with volume!

  8. for me, a jazz is suited to most types of music, sits well in the mix and never had a problem amplifying to hear it!

but then with the amp on same settings

a precision, goes higher (steve harris), lower (motown), but obv without a 15 you'll not get that really low end anyway (but thats another thread all together!)
i've never been able to get the aggression of my tone out of a jazz, but plug the jazz in, and its just , well, there! no aggression, but infinately more articulate shall we say!

in summary - and IMHO of course - you'll hear a jazz better, but it wont rumble your guts or scare ya!

  9. The promoter did, it's the warm up show for hard rock hell, us 4 Friday night then 12, YES 12 bands battling for a place today. Apparently it's a 10 minute changeover!

By the way, small stage doesn't begin to describe it! Plus we had to walk the entire length of the rammed narrow pub with our gear to do change over! Saying that, was a cracking gig.

  10. Friday – The Box, Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow – 7.30pm to midnight – 4 bands – The Black Cherry Group, Simon McBride, Attica rage and ng26

this is about all the info i can find on it - ruddy promoters!!

as long as travel and hotel is paid for itll be a nice trip! lol
