  1. My singer saying to me - "listen carefully cause you won't hear it again, that bass sounds f***ing awesome!"

Got compared to both entwistle AND gene Simmons after one gig, not sure how that works though? Lol

The rest of the band regularly say that fill you did in the studio is amazing! Not so amazing when I tell them it's been there since we wrote it!! Ha ha nice to be noticed sometimes though

  2. hey there,

    i believe this is a pedaltrain 2 - 12 1/2" by 24" actual board size
has hook side velcro attached to board

i think this may be flight cased, my brother has a hard case for his and this one is much more substantial!
outer dimensions of the case are are 26" by 18" by 8"

looking for £100 plus delivery as these are £190 in shops

as stated, a common fault with these are the volume pots - this one however has had the £70 repair DONE!
comes with the proper genz benz gig bag too!

after £425 for this - well worth it
and just as a little extra - for £450 i'll chuck in my 210 cab (homemade, uncovered, sealed, loaded at 1000w@ 4 ohms) only used at home this one!
also have an overwater progess 3 deluxe 5 for sale, will do all the above for £1500 and its a rig perfect for orchestra pits! (obviously IMO/ IME)

  4. overwater progress 3 deluxe 5 stringer

19 mm string spacing at bridge
    mahogany body, maple top
36" scale through neck(which isn't as scary as it sounds, and best b string i've ever played!)
    rosewood fingerboard
xlr plus jack outputs - ideal for or direct to desk recording

i'd value this bass at £1200 (i know they are worth more - curent market and all that) but hit me with an offer for it!

this really is a superb bass, but way too nice for me! i think we have about 3 songs that require 5 strings, and we dont play those very often, and i have practice basses
trying to finish my rig, so.......

    possible part trades:
ampeg 810 in good condition (must be bi amp one)

    thanks for looking!

  5. In the world of PA rigs, a bi amped or even tri amped rig involves a crossover, this one really is just slightly eq ing out mids on one pre amp and boosting it a bit on the other!

But I'm really pleased with it!

The only problem is needing 2 cabs or a biamp cable cab, when borrowing a cab, I just use my rpm section on stage (as it's basically a straight DI with bass and treble boosted) but send both signals to FOH

  6. RBI - drive 2 o'clock
    Blend full
    Bass 10 o'clock
    Mid 3 o'clock
    Treble 12 o'clock
    through a 210

    Rpm - drive 10 o'clock
    Blend 9 o'clock
    Bass 3 o'clock
    Treble 1 o'clock
    Mid shift at 500 hz
    Mid level at 2 o'clock
    Through a 115

Mixed to around the same audible level on stage

    How about you?

  7. my other half will not be impressed if you keep sending me porn!! lol

oh well its my birthday in a couple of weeks - day off work and i have been meaning to go down to bass direct, i dont think she can begrudge me that lol

    thanks for the heads up!

  8. hey there bass chatters!

basically i've never found a 5 string bass that i'm truely happy with, i play a gene simmons punisher and its exactly right for me - if it came in a 5 string version then i would get it!
but they dont so i've tried
    warwick infinity
    stingray
    bongo
    precision
    jazz
and currently on an overwater pregress 3 deluxe

the overwater is about as close to happy as i've ever been with a 5 stringer, but its still not right
the punisher has a 'normal' placement of a precision pickup but a hot EMG pup in it!

now i tried out a schecter omen extreme 5 the other day at a shop in nottingham and acoustically it played awesomely and sounding amazing (being basically made of the same woods - mahogany body and maple/mahogany neck - as the punisher, just a bolt on neck) - BUT plugged it in and it sounded like a big pile of turd!

my question is this - would fitting an EMG active pup (they do the precision in a soapbar size) and taking out the eq make it sound similar to my punisher? (which did have a tone pot that i didnt use, so out it came!)

bit long winded but now you know what i'm aiming for, or suggestions

and trades on the overwater for an ampeg 810 in good nick plus cash lol

  9. I run a crown xls 602 - with a RBI to one side and an rpm on the other, runs just fine, the only time it's clipped (albeit very slightly) was running an ampeg 810 balls out with bass at 3 oclock. But if you're just running one pre, look at the specs and outputs, they vary hugely, and will be your downfall if you don't consider all situations you'll need it for!

On the other hand, pa power amps are designed not to colour, so you can be fairly happy that the sound you hear on stage is the sound you hear out front!
