  1. we rarely play covers, but the ones we do have in the bank, it helps me to have a: boss bf2 flanger for thin lizzy stuff morley wah/volume/distortion for early metallica digitech chorus for gnr! i do use effects for original stuff, but very rarely can be arsed to take the board to gigs, i like my space!
  2. i was sat down when i bought it! it sounds incredible, but discovered when i stand up to play it, the neck feels like a baseball bat! will really suit someone, just wasted in my bedroom!
  3. let me just say, all these things are true! but the 2 biggest things about MY rig (which to my ear is massive) is 15" and sansamp went from a 410 to a 115 and everyone in the practice room on the first song just smiled!! such a change and the guitarish has a full sound - its a bass - go lower!! plus the sansamp rpm is amazing and THE best £300 i've every spent! no experience with other sansamp stuff, but the touch of distortion it gives fills the whole sound out too! we're sorting the album atm, so i cant show you the sound just yet, but trust me - any bass with these 2 things sounds (my take on) MASSIVE!
  4. hi there, i LOVE my rig its a gene simmons punisher (no hating please, i just thought the active emgs might have an affect on cab selection) sansamp rpm genz benz shuttle 6 (only use the power section, sansamp is the pre and DI) ampeg 115e i absolutely adore the 115 tone, it has all the lows that the big 410hlf and 810 DO NOT HAVE TO MY EARS!! plus the slight click to distinguish notes, plus the gorgeous 2k boost that i love and defines my sound! when i play the smaller gigs, i cant hear myself without turning WAY up (much the the disapproval of the guitar player) i think this may be due to standing close to the cab, and theres not always the ability to stick the cab next to my ear. ideally i want another cab to stick on top of it, so i can hear myself as evenly as possibly wherever i stand on the non monitor gigs! i have tried in ears, and besides them not staying in due to sweat and headbanging, it totally removes the atmosphere and essentially everything we love about playing live!! should i be going for a 210? another 115? a wedge monitor powered by my amp in front of me? any advice greatly appreciated!! plus i have a warwick infinity nt5 for sale (mint condition, just dont get on with it live and wasted in my bedroom) any offers, contact me on [email protected]
  5. i use the ampeg 115e, and from my experience and everyone saying 15s dont give you punch, its THE best cab i've played through, i will not get rid of mine, and considering getting another (purely aesthetic reasons) the full range of this thing is incredible. my rig is a ampeg 115e, power section from genz benz shuttle 6, and pre is sansamp rpm i have always found ashdown to be really boring sounding and flat, personal opinion of course, but the ashdown 410, even paired up with the ashdown 115, just does not compare to the bite, growl, and clarity that the 115e gives me! but you might disagree - just check that its loaded with the eminence kappa 15a, dont know if mine was altered to that as i bought it second hand!
