  1. I had this for sale last year and it sold quickly but the buyer messed me about a lot so eventually I called the sale off. I was going to keep it but, as I use IEMs and a helix, in reality i'm not going to gig it and it's a bit wasted in my home studio.

Great condition, with barely a mark on the case and working perfectly. Super solid, meaty sounding amp that is really versatile. All the benefits of proper A/B power section but only marginally heavier than a class D amp. All boxed up in it's own sturdy case. These are a light, comfortable carry but still feel lovely and solid.

Socially distanced collection only (South Northants - 10 mins from M1 J15a / 15 mins from M40 J10) I'm afraid and only when the rules allow. Happy to hold and store it safely for any buyer in exchange for a sensible deposit.

    Thanks for looking

  2. Up for sale goes my Yamaha BB1025X in great condition.

I have a BB2025x and the difference is barely noticeable but I only really have the need for one of them. The 2025 was a 40th birthday present so that one will never be for sale.

Comes with pretty much brand new DR hi-beams and a proper Yamaha gig bag.

    Weight is 4.8kg.

Socially distanced collection from NN12 8XR only. I'm not prepared to risk postage / paypal issues I'm afraid. More than happy to store this securely for buyer until lockdown is over in return for a sensible deposit.

Identical to the ones that came with my 1024x and 1025x. Didn't have any issues with dimensions. Both fit well and are decent bags.

  4. £295 including mainland uk postage.

Absolutely pristine and unmarked as it has only been used for about three songs at 1 corporate function gig while my Helix was annoyingly locked in a studio.

Absolutely my favourite overdrive pedal because you have the ability to split and blend signal at a crossover point of your choosing and then boost / cut / compress the lows so that it never loses the body or definition of your tone. It basically does the exact same thing that I love about my helix. Check out the Andertons review video

These are £395 new and this is as new with the original box, stickers, free plectrum, manual, usb cable and little rubber feet that have never even been put on. There is not a mark on it so you essentially have a brand new pedal at £85 less than new.

Insured postage included inside UK mainland. I won't post outside of the UK. I'll knock £10 off if you collect yourself.

  5. Wonderful HandBox R400 amp head. Purchased here about a year ago and gigged regularly in a wedding band until Covid-19 hit. Selling as I am purely going to be a Helix / in ears guy from here on in.

Fantastic full, rich sounding amp head that has all the benefits of Class A/B power section in a solid compact and comfortable to carry built in case.

Everything works as it should and it is pretty much completely unmarked and clean as a whistle.

Collection only from South Northants (nr Towcester). Welcome to try in a covid safe office studio at the end of my garden. Not looking for trades unless you have a Crown XTi 2002 power amp.

I haven't seen a high end wedding/function band for years that wasn't mixed gender, getting paying gigs for all male scruffy indie/rock bands got so difficult around here that ours disbanded! I've since only been in mixed gender groups.

The 15 most popular bands on our agents books played a total of 1941 gigs between them in 2019. Only one of those bands isn't an all male lineup. 6 of them would fall into the scruffy indie category. It may not be selling in your area but across the uk as a whole it's still a pretty popular choice.

It seems there's just two choices.  Please the management and get a man.   Or please the band and get the best singer for the job, whatever gender they maybe.

If  i auditioned some vocalists , men and women, and a woman had the best vocals and fitted in with the rest of the band, she'd get the job.  I wouldnt be having management telling me what gender of  musician i should be hiring, but thats just IMO

All well and good but in this instance the agent brings in 100% of our work. If they are right and then we end up with 20% fewer bookings then the band is no longer a viable business. If we were a pub band or just doing it for fun then I'd agree completely.

Without knowing whether an LLP is required to follow the same employment laws as larger companies (one assumes so), Citizens Advice Bureau states:

It is illegal for an employer to discriminate against you because of your sex. This includes all employers, no matter how few people they employ. Most workers, including employees, agency workers, trainees and those who are self-employed have protection from sex discrimination at work. This includes:

    • recruitment and selection
    • promotion
    • training, pay and benefits
    • redundancy and dismissal
    • terms and conditions of work

I totally understand this and my belief is that an LLP is subject to the exact same rules as any other employer so I think any advert we put out will need to avoid stating preferred age or gender.

I makes me wonder how tv / film companies can advertise for a male actor or how the chippendales could advertise for a new stripper.

So are you looking for opinions then? Or validation that the agents telling the only thing they'll accept is the 'right' thing? :)
Because it seems that the former probably isn't going to sway you?!

    Si

I'm more interested in how people think we stand both legally and morally when it comes to advertising. The band is a registered LLP and I'm the only non partner so essentially I don't actually get the final say on who we advertise for. My concern is not breaking laws or accidentally causing offence if we put an advert out.

I'd imagine it's venues not always having separate facilities for band members (changing rooms, toilets etc...). I doubt that it's anything to do with a band's style or repertoire, merely logistics. They'd maybe have issues with selling a band with wheelchair players, too. Just a guess, though. :|

I'm not sure. Modern venues are all well equipped. I think it's more to do with their experiences of what clients are booking.
