I bought my atk300 from eBay about 2month ago,when I got it the (elexir) E&A strings had already started to Frey round about the edge of the fretboard..obviously the coating coming away where the previous owner had been slapping. Is it time to change them?I've only been playing for about 7month now,self taught so I'm not realy clued up on strings ,realy just asking if these are good strings?? Or could people recommend any other types to me that are good for most styles..I play fingerstyle..my slap is taking off and would realy love to maintain a clear and twangy sound but also love a dark and growl sound also..I don't use a pick at all!! Also is this common for elixir strings.? Thanks.

I was practicing when I finisished I went to take my lead out only to find the tip is stuck in the socket..Can anybody give me advice on this...is it something u can repair yourself ..I'm kind of new to bass so don't realy want to be taking a bass amp apart..I have a laney rb2 30w bass amp!!!! Any help would b appeiciated!!

Hey new to this forum and the bass for that matter so just finding my was around this site..been reading the posts on this thread for a few days now and picking up some great ideas. Anyway only been playing bass for 2 months the 1st song i learned was "On call" from kings of leon...amazing catchy bass line even better when its live and you see the response it gets from the crowd....as with "slow night so long" by kings of leon both riffs stick in your head allday. The latest 1 im learning is "Little green bag" by George Baker selectioin.....theme tune to reservoir dogs..picked it up pretty quick and soungs great. Great forum!!!!!
