1.
I think you added an S at the end of 'miles', you are indeed a single mile from me! I'm up by the Downham Arms. If you're game for a little tester session I have an array of interesting beasts for you to have a play with while I sample the Dingwall? Let me know man!
Yeah that sounds cool. I'm a bit tight for time this week unless you fancy popping down to Mushroom Studios this evening? I'm there from 7 to 11, but I could get there a little earlier if you fancied a quick noodle.

 3. Dear all, As some of you may know, eight years ago Helen and I lost Cameron, one of our twins boys, to a brain tumour. It's a bit of a tough read, as are all the others on the page, but you can find our story here. Ali’s Dream was set up to fund research into Childhood Brain Tumours and we have been long time supporters of their efforts. For many years The Last Resort have supported various different charities by putting together some fantastic shows at The Mill Hall, Rayleigh, Essex. The band itself is an ever changing ensemble of some great local musicians. This year The Last Resort have decided that Ali’s Dream will be their nominated charity. You can visit The Last Resort web site here. Tickets are on sale now either directly from me, The Last Resort web site or from See Tickets here. Rehearsals are well underway and I’m really looking forward to the show. If you are unsure of what you’re going to get, you can watch a video montage of the 2003 show here. It would be great to see some of you on the night. Regards, Warren.
 4. Trystan just purchased a Boss OC-2 pedal from me. An easy transaction with a trusted BC'er. Thank you once again.
 5. Boss OC-2 Octave. In great condition. Has two squares of Dual Lock on the rear. Complete with instruction and original box which is a bit worn. Posted anywhere in the UK for £60.00.

 7.
Nice stuff. How did you find out, Hiram? Just remembered it?
It wasn't in my favourites, as I had been through all of them. I found it in "liked videos". I had only liked it instead of favourited it.

 9. I been wracking my brains all day over this one and I've come up bare. There was video on You Tube that I'm sure I saved as a favourite, but don't seem to have anymore. I can't remember the band or the name of the song. All I remember is that it was an all male group of about 4-5 members, I'm fairly sure the vocalist was black, it was kind of acid jazz-ish, it had brass in it, it was shot outside in a wooded area and interspersed throughout the tune every time the brass came in it changed from live action to a cartoony animated sequence possibly featuring brass instruments. Help, it's driving me nuts!
 10.
....not reformed Elco Jones, by any chance, Warren?
Er, no! I think hell might freeze over first. Besides which, all Elco members, bar possibly one I believe, have their fingers collectively entrenched in various other pies now.... Streetlife - me Total 80's - me, keys & sax Skamite - trumpet, keys & ex-trumpet The Real Swing - drums, three vox & ex-keys Soulsation - drums, two vox & ex-keys Never say never though
 11. Just checked back in and I'm overwhelmed by the responses. Post #1, Song #4 (from discreet - thank you) and we're off and running. I very much doubt whether I would have found Stone Cold Sober by Paloma Faith on my own. I'm going through them one by one to make a short list. Thanks again everyone.
 12. I should add Treasure is the only one were working on at the moment, which is looking good and we've vetoed Get Lucky.
 13. I know this is a really lazy way of doing it, but it does actually make sense bearing in mind the depth of playing experience here on BC. I'm in a covers band. The line up is three brass, three vocals (1m & 2f) and a four piece back line. We've consistently struggled to agree on decent material recently, not for want of trying I might add! I would say the most successful new pick we've had is the song below and I have to say we've nailed it, including the middle section which isn't In the CD version. http://youtu.be/o95FLUk7o9Q Although I'm happy to play anything, I'm not very 21st century in my musical outlook. So needs to have brass, can be male or female vocal lead, needs to be "popular", needs to be recent, needs to be funky. Hit me up. Feel free to bias your opinions on excellent bass lines.
 14.
Fair enough - I thought I had probably missed something! Glad its all sorted for you. I have a 2012 US Fender that I love, but still want a 59 Heavy Relic, there is just something special about them.
Totally agree. I've never had a relic before, but it's a work of art. Fender obviously think they look good too because they stamp RELIC on them
Ok lets get down to brass tax here. Is it any easier to play YYZ on this bass ?.
Yes Yes Zitis
 15.
Why didn't the retailer check it out before passing it on, or have I missed that bit after skim reading the thread? Surely if you're spending that sort of money they ask you how you like your set up, or at least give it the once over?
You missed a bit. It came directly from Fender to the distributors UK warehouse and then it was couriered to me. I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. By doing so I have taken possession of it in the same condition it left the USA without anyone else tinkering about with it, which could be anything from a quick noodle around, to messing with the factory setup. Granted the neck, I believe, moved slightly in transit, but I don't believe that is wholly avoidable given the journey it made. As far as the set-up is concerned, I think that would be something that would have to be done with me being present and I wouldn't have been able to get to the supplier. Talking of which, I would like to reiterate the suppliers have been fantastic from the first moment I raised the issue.
