  1. I purchased my modulus from a guy in Italy through BC.  Never met him before, but put over £2k in his account hoping a decent bass would turn up.  Sure enough it arrived as stated and I’ve been as happy as a pig in 💩 ever since.  If you want a bass bad enough you’ll take a bigger risk.  Sound the seller out,  see the tone and quality of their previous posts etc and good luck.

This topic has been done to death (which doesn’t usually stop us doing it again on BC 😕 ), but it obviously depends on how you like your strings to sound.

Arguably making the biggest difference out of any component of your overall sound, not surprisingly it’s different strokes for different folks.

Personally I love the zing of brand new strings. Rich, bright and harmonic. Whilst my stings may not sound dead for a number of months after they stop sounding brand new, I still prefer the fresh on sound.

I don’t change them every time I play obviously, but if money (and the dubious ethics of discarding that number of strings) were no object I would 😊

For now it’s new ones for every gig and every 2-3 rehearsal (few more on the fretless) if I don’t gig in between. Which is a less daunting financial proposition now I’ve switched to Newtone Diamnonds from TI Jazz rounds 😕.

😲 What do you do with all your strings?  If you only gig them once and bin them, I’ll take them off your hands 😝

Bollox, I didnt even know they're over here. I'd have gone to see them in a trice. Saw them at Download in 2017 and they were the best act of the festival IMO

Yeah it’s the third time I’ve seen them and they’ve got better each time. I’m still aching all over and bruised, they make you forget how old you are 😂

  4. What an amazing thread!  I say amazing, I mean dangerous. I had thought I’d quashed my GAS and then I find this thread!!  Anyway here’s my single ray that ever owned, bought new in 94 and still in nearly new condition, gigged heavily but treasured.  I’m on the lookout for  matching 5 but unsure I can handle the extra weight...

  5. My current rig.  Gets me the tones I need to cut through nicely in my function band.  A lightweight rig for me as I’ve had old skool TE gear for many years.  Might have to add a 4x10 cab at some point but more than happy with what I got.  My only GAS is for a Wal.....

  6. I think the best way to find musicians or bands is to use local music shops if you have them, chat to owners/people working there, put a card up etc.  Other ways could be local jam nights, or going to see bands on the local circuit, chat to them and punters.

    good luck

don't know whether you saw my earlier post about the flimsy power supply socket, it will probably fail without some sort of support bracket, both me and the guitarist had to do this, apart from that it is an excellent unit with no other issues that I have found even when we were both using them at the same time20190703_164832.thumb.jpg.9d90800a30130dbea1169f420e66036e.jpg

Yes thanks I did see that and will no doubt have to do the same thing, it’s a silly thing to have to do but the design and operation apart from that seems perfect
