1. i play a sr705 now and i love it. Iceman basses arent great for dropped tunings if that is what your doing (im assuming your in at least D/C tuning). im considering getting either an sr900dx or a btb700dx, both are great basses and the emg humbuckers are great for metal.
2. Ibanez sr705 Peavey tour 700 peavey tvx 410
3. when i have money my bass is going into overwater for a full setup. luckily they have thier workshop in my town and they should be able to sort out most problems.
4.
So the string make and gauge hasn't changed. Did the alternative string that you mentioned in your first post come from the same shop as the first duff one? If so they might have a duff batch. It might be worth trying another B string from an alternative source. Why do you suspect the truss rod? Has it been altered since the set of strings you liked were changed? Has anything else been changed in the set up?
i've changed the strings since they changed them in shop and its the same issue. the truss rod hasnt been changed i just asked incase it affects the strings that way. im going to take my bass in for a full setup elsewhere to see if they can sort it.
5.
Ok so have had a sound out of the B string that you've been happy with... Do you know what make and gauge the B string that you liked was? Also what make(s) and gauge(s) of B string have you tried since?
the set i had orginaly was elixers that had a 0.130 b which is the same as what i have now, could the truss rod affect any of this?
6.
I gotta agree with the rest of the posters in asking if the B string has ever sounded good...knowing that answer will help a lot, there are a ton of things that could be causing the issue.
the b string has sounded good before, but only recently has it done this after a re-stringing from a local shop
7.
@ the OP - we can help a LOT more if your give us some basic information. What bass do you play? What make of strings do you use? Are they roundwound or flatwound? Do you play with a pick or fingerstyle? What sort of music is it?
it's an ibanez sr705 with a 34" scale neck. i use heavyass overwater strings, only recently has it started sounding this way, and yes i have changed the strings since they are roundwound i use both styles but it sounds worse with a pick and i play metalcore mainly but also alot of rhcp and metal
8. on my 5-string the open B is sounding really dull, iv tried changing the strings, the intenation is fine. Anyone got advice to sort this problem out?
9. I've got one, it is the best amp i've tried. The variety of sounds is massive, it isnt exactly cheap but is worth it
10.
If you already have a five string, why do you need to detune? Surely you've already got all the low notes covered?
I've already tried that, but most of our songs have fast sections that jump from open C to higher notes, it's too fast to jump from 1st fret up to the higher nnotes
11. i currently have a 5-string ibanez which i love, however my band uses drop C tuning which means destroying my strings tuning down to that. I wanna stick with ibanez because i love my current bass, has anyone used the srt900? I can't find a review!!!
12. I'm just trying to find any issues with the peavey gear. I'm looking more at the 700 head becuase that extra power will be useful for playing bigger gigs like festivals and the guys im playing with now are using fairly big amps.
13. I'm looking at the peavey range of heads they seem good. How come you wanting to sell?
14. what i'm thinking is getting the cab+head then trading in my current amp for a 1x15 speaker so is it 8ohm i want?
15. I'm using a laneyrb6 which works quite well, but a rb8 is also in your price range which has 300watts power and should do small to mid sized gigs(depending on what the rest of your band uses)
