Because, as I  said upthread, these parts of strings are not intended to be part of the 'speaking' length of the string.

Not had any time to play with it yet, still technically convalescing from 3 shoulder surgeries. Might even just pot it in Araldite!

See no obvious reason why it should, to be honest...

Off the top of my head, I would have thought most, if not all of the claims made could be addressed simply by using core-contact/taperwound strings, as in a piano. No need for a special bridge then.

As with most BBs, not a light bass, around 9.5lb, but sounds great, very hot pickups. Currently wearing a nicely run-in set of ECB-81 Chromes.

Exactly, those bits are NOT designed to be part of the speaking length.

Build your own. I have a Mexican body and bridge, pretty much identical to a 70s bass. Because I also became enamoured of slimmer-than-usual Jazz necks, I bought an American Special Jazz neck in maple. Add suitable tuners, pickup to taste etc.

Surgery done, very awkward typing this one-handed with my left hand. Now just the joy of waiting for the nerve block to wear off.. 

My triggers broom is a 2003 MIM P-bass, and the only original parts left are the body, bridge, and knobs. 

And tomorrow is the other reason for going ultra-lite - reverse total r/h shoulder replacement. 

Should be fun. Not.
