Multi FX Pedals

Well I have the Boss GT10-B and it's a good unit. If you tweak about with it then you can get pretty much anything ou of it! The initial patches are crap and it will require couple of hours to get usable sounds out of it. All the effects are good quality and you can pretty much combine them in any way you want. With Boss the only limit is your own imagination so you willhave loads of fun playing it!

However, it is a very complex unit that I would only recommend to someone who will fully utilise it's possibilities! I think that if you not using more than 8 effects at any one time in each song than you can get away with much smaller unit or even seperate stompboxes which is something I'm seriously considering at the moment!

Cheers

FWIW I've been running a processor since the mid 90s for guitar. Although the units can be complex, what makes them nice is that you can have any combination of effects that you want all available at the press of a pedal. I don't HAVE to use everything at the same time, but if I want several different sounds with compressor, EQ, chorus and reverb (and I do) then they can all be programmed in and are just a maximum of 3 pedal presses away. And they're always the same every time.

Separate pedals will still usually sound better when set up exactly right, but a processor will let you just get on and play instead of fiddling.

Well yes the cables are an expense, plus the pedalboard etc but for the Boss you'll need another cables and a bag as well so add another £40 to the price! If you want a multi than why not try this: http://www.bossus.com/gear/productdetails....mp;ParentId=248 or maybe this http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/zoom-b2.1u/68355

With any of those it will be easier to sell them on if you don't like it! Remember there's not many people who are keen on the big multi units!

Cheers
