Dead tone pot?

Chances are it's just come un-soldered; probably the capacitor on the back of it.

need to take a look at the wiring and as suggested the cap...

meter the pot without any attachments across the tabs...middle one to each of the outers..then over the outers
also make sure the pot has its earth firmly attached to the body of the pot..
etc

its a matter of elimination
