crez5150 Posted December 31, 2009 Share Posted December 31, 2009 Hi Guys I have an old de-fretted Jazz, I really like the sound actually sounds better than some fretless instruments I've tried. I want to change the pick-ups as they are real cheapo's and was wondering what people would recommend. I want to keep it Passive as all my other basses are Active. Dom in Dorset Posted December 31, 2009 Share Posted December 31, 2009 My next home build project is a twin neck fretless/fretted and I'm going for wizard pick ups. I've heard great things about them, the prices look good and they are British (Welsh) made - you can't say that about many things these days! I'm leaning towards their P bass pick ups, it'll work out slightly cheaper for my project and I'm after big fat tones. SD Antiquity II's also highly recommended and look the business in an old Jazz. Neither cheap, but they do pop up on the 'bay and here now and again.
