Lew-Bass Posted December 3, 2009 Share Posted December 3, 2009 Going to be buying a new bass in the very near future, and I am absolutely stumped. I've asked before and I've scoured the internet, but as I'm left handed, choice is extremely limited. I simply want a nice 4-string Precision for under £500. I've got a great P pick-up on hold and I might swap the neck for a jazz, so I guess the body is the most important thing. Thankyou so much! If I bought one of the empty bodies, what else exactly would I need to buy (excuse the stupid question, I just want to be sure)? Neck, bridge, pick up, control pots and a pickguard? What's your opinion on the bass? I know beggars can't be choosers but my two other basses are in the colours that the squire is available in, and I would ideally prefer a change. Still, if it's the best option that wont stop me[/quote] If you've already got the pick up, just changing the bridge to a Badass/Gotoh style and some better quality machine heads will make no end of difference. I've got a gotoh style bridge, sandberg tuners and a seymour duncan quarter pounder in mine. Admittedly, i did rip out the jazz bridge pick-up.
