SimBass Posted October 20, 2009 Share Posted October 20, 2009 Ok, so I have a LMII, I love it and would never dream of changing it....until along came the LM tube. OK so the obvious difference is the pre-tube (which I keep being told is not really audibly different from the SS pre). This is fine, I actually love the solid state sound of my LMII but since I use cello and Bass in the same gig through the same amp it would be really useful to have all extra front end control - i.e. separate volume for each input, phantom power (my in-line power for cello pickup is annoying and battery reliant), plus the ever needed mute switch. So my question is whether there is any really difference in sound between the LMII and the LM tube in all SS mode?
