project_c
Someone has offered me one of these for a silly price, so I've been trying to do some research on this combo and have found nothing apart from a few pics. It's 350w apparently, with a 15" speaker (maybe). From the 'good old' pre-gibson Trace days, as far as I can tell. Looks a bit like a washing machine from hell. Anyone here remember them? Are they any good? Are they worth lugging around? Is the weight ridiculous? How do they compare to other 15" combos? Merton
It's 100W, not 350W, sorry! Nice cmobos, I've always hankered after one myself but they never crop up at the right time. Anything in the £150-£250 region seems to be a sell price over the last year on fleabay.
project_c
thanks for the info, the guy wants £100 for it, and insists that it's 350w, but i'm also pretty sure that's wrong. how would you describe the tone of these things?
Mr.T
I have not owned this particular model of Trace combo, but have had the GP11 and GP12 combo's before going over to an amp and cabs set-up. I would guess the sound is typical 'Trace', which you might love or not.... I did! £100 sounds a great price if the amp is in good condition. Buy it and try it for yourself.... I doubt you'd lose any money on it, should you not like it.
Merton
£100 is definitely a good price! This is a classic Trace sound, which like Mr T says you may or may not like! Will cut trough the mix beautifully tho
