Guitar Shows. Are they a good place to buy a Bass?

I’ve been on the lookout for a cheap Bass or something a bit worn/bashed that I can leave around the house & take to jam nights.   Nothing really coming up.

 

There’s a Guitar Show coming to the North West in May.    Has anyone been to one of these?   Are there many Basses there?    Are there better deals to be had than normally in the shops?

Is it worth waiting for?

These things tend to be more geared (sic) towards the guitar collector types than towards someone after something cheap & cheerful.

 

There may be some deals to be had, but for something a bit "road worn" / "player grade", IMO, you're best off scouring the For Sale ads here, Gumtree & FB Marketplace (locally to you).

 

Guitar shows are a nice way to spend a few hours, nerding out at what's on offer (whist baulking at the prices).

I agree with Skybone. If you were to place a wanted advertisement in the Marketplace on Basschat I think you’d get something suitable.
