Ok, so I've been lucky enough to secure a super rare American Vintage '62 Precision, super happy about it but I'm a bit confused by the ranges and naming...

Would a '62 Precision from the 1998- 2012  run be referred to as an AVRI or is that name only used for the run from 1982-1998?

Hi, congrats , they are great basses and to the best of my knowledge I’d say yes ,because I’ve got a AVRI 62 jazz and a AVRI 62 precision, and they are both from 2007

I thought they became the American vintage range after the avri  reissues were discontinued and then American vintage 2? I have an avri 62 jazz master from 2001. I've barely ever played it as the nitro is so thin!
