Yamaha BB424X or Franconia ??

Interested in buying one of the above , lots of info on the Yam not too much on the Franconia.  Opinion's very welcomed as I've not played either ...similar price.

Go for the Yamaha. 

 

Is a well known brand and a respectable product and you will be able to sell it later.

 

Franconia appears to be quite obscure and you will likely struggle to ever shift it if you want to upgrade.

 

That said, if you try the Franconia and it 'speaks' to you and inspires you to make beautiful music then it's probably worth every penny.

100% the Yamaha. 

 

The Franconia is, I believe late 70s, early 80s. It's niche, quirky and very much a collectable or enthusiast instrument. Pickup spacing is unconventional too. 

 

@Bassassin will undoubtedly be able to shed some light on Franconia basses.
