The new one doesnt quite fit right with a very small gap either end between the edge of the fretboard and the nut. Its never massively bothered me but what has since i started using smaller gauge strings is the slot depths. In particular the G and D sit quite low down and i have a feeling the G is being pinched resulting in a slighty more dead tone. Looking at these phone pics would you say it needs a trip to the tech for a new nut? Quote

rainbowreality Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) You could file down the nut top so about a third of the diameter of the A, D and G string is showing above each slot. Also press down each string between the 2nd and 3rd fret and then tap the string directly over the 1st fret.
