FRFR (Headrush... question)

I've been searching for an answer on an FRFR unit.

 

All I'm seeing is people jacking in HX Stomp type boards...my question is whether an FRFR unit will work with a rudimentary distortion pedal (in my case a Fender Pugilist).

Should do, assuming that the input sensitivity is sufficient (mic level rather than line level).
