Removable neck bass £500 Leighton Buzzard

This is a ex-school bass. Czech made heavy plywood, swell back, Eb neck. Fingerboard looks like rosewood and has a couple of dings in it. Standard-ish 3/4 size, 105cm scale.

 

It’s a very solid instrument but was being chucked out as the neck had come clean off. Rather than just gluing and screwing it back on I put in some threaded inserts to make it a removable neck. It seems to have worked as has been stable for a good year in which the neck has been on and off a few times. Get yourself a bicycle flightcase and this bass is plane ready. The only problem is it is on the heavy side so the case would have to be light.
