MyNameIsMark Posted 10 minutes ago Posted 10 minutes ago Hello! I have a playlist of 60’s soul songs I like to revisit/warm-up/practice to. This weekend, instead of playing the lines, I replaced them with 8th notes on the root of the chord. I have in the back of my head advice from an unknown pro “make it feel good” & actually amazed how difficult that can be! I have so many inconsistencies… which finger I fret with, attack of the single picking finger, my second picking finger is a disaster, heavier swings are all over the place! Such a simple exercise with such a simple goal. I feel like I’ve skipped years of foundational stuff, hiding behind ghost notes & the void of syncopation. Maybe this’ll help others, let’s hope it helps me! 🫠 Quote
