Going through the spares bag and think I’m happy to let these go… but this may change!

Images to follow

Funkulator £100

Prefixed eq cut at 800hz for instant slap tones the intensity of the cut increases as you dial up the single knob. At lower settings it can help thicken up finger style and more pronounced the more you dial it in. It can be really useful in adding a second voice to a bass, as a way to eq a drive pedal. I used it to enhance my jazz bass and for a more scooped drive sound think ampeg like tones.

There’s a built in buffer too and the pedal  can be quite addictive as an always on sweetener box. The magic lies in the ability to maintain the other frequencies as the mid cut increases. It really is a great wee box if a bit niche looking on the surface. It’s a unit I’d be happy to keep and put back on the board if there’s no interest!

Basswitch Enhanced OD £125 Boxed

I really dig this drive for its versatility and tones. It’s basically two voices in one unit in that the tone control works like a eq curve shift. At one end of the range it sounds ampeg/scoopy and as you turn to the opposite end of the range the eq curve shifts to a mid bump. It’s a very full sounding drive and really fills out the mid-range especially useful in a trio etc.

This one’s a bit rare as not many produced before the basswitch guy retired. I have this, their comp and the basswitch iqdi- love their kit and it all sounds wonderful!

Duality Duzz £90 Sold

Two voicings available which can be swept through with the related Duality knob. Classic muff style sound to more gated fuzz which work well for the oct+ fuzz synth type tones TL:DR Big dirty fuzz tones in a wee box! Simples! Early run made in Seattle (by Spencer at 3LA I think). Says on the base I can check if it’s useful info.

Markbass Compressore £100 no box

Works as a valve stage in its own right and a very capable compressor which uses the tube for the compression. Not really keen to shift it but I flip back and forth between this and another unit. Add tube warmth to any rig and I think it’s a bit overlooked as an actual proper voltage tube stage on a pedal board.

FT Electronica £70 sub octave based on the ampeg sub blaster? Really simple and small footprint. Sounds great!

TC Bucket Brigade Delay £25

Sime great sounding delay which is also quite petite! Bought for a project but the guy has moved for a new job and has no use on my regular gig.

It’s the older one with the recessed knobs. It really is a killer unit but the size can be off putting. I run it off a Fender LvL 8 power brick at 12v 500ma and it works perfectly.

I have a valve preamp on my board and some additional Lightening Boy Audio 2020s transformers hidden underneath my board and I’m not really needing the tube stage form the MB comp as I have that tube character already but it’s nice to swap it on and off the board when I feel like it.
Aww I might pop it back on this evening now I’m talking about it. I knew this would happen 🤣
