Higgie Posted September 8 Posted September 8 (edited) Up for sale is an absolutely mint condition Broughton Carina Phaser. I bought it on here a few months ago from the original owner who had only had it out of the box once before putting it up for sale to go towards wedding funds. It's then lived in its box in a drawer at my house ever since, as I really have no need for a Phaser, as much as I love the sound - which is absolutely LUSH! Absolutely brand spanking new, no velcro, original box (which I have labelled with a sharpie as it was just completely blank) £150 + postage, or can meet/be picked up in Ickenham/London. Quatschmacher Posted Friday at 19:22 Posted Friday at 19:22 Is the sweep knob on these an LFO modulation depth control or a centre-frequency control? Quote
Higgie Posted Saturday at 08:08 Author Posted Saturday at 08:08 From the Broughton website: “But what makes the Carina really stand out is the sweep control. The sweep control shifts the focus of the phasing across the audio spectrum, ranging from ultra deep low end phasing to high frequency sparkle. What would ordinarily be a fixed range in other phasers, the Carina gives you control over what frequencies are affected, completely changing the character of the effect.” Quote

The easiest way to check is this: when the Sweep knob is at minimum, is there still detectable LFO movement? Edited 10 hours ago by Quatschmacher Quote
Higgie Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago It sounds to me like it's just shifting the centre frequency. 1 Quote
