I had a VTDI Deluxe for a while, wasn't that keen on it after having played about with it for a while. 

 

Bought a Bass Fly rig V2 not so long back, which has both the BDDI and VTDI circuits on board, tried the VT first, and couldn't find anything I liked, switched to the BD and there it was.

 

Maybe look at the BDDI instead of the VT.
