SumOne Posted June 16 Posted June 16 (edited) These are probably done digitally with a synth, but it feels like a synth emulating a Bass Guitar: ... I guess they are aiming for a Bernard Edwards Stingray sort of thing. What do you reckon, Stingray to get closest to this sort of sound? Edited June 16 by SumOne Quote
Belka Posted June 16 Posted June 16 The first two definitely sound more StingRay. The other two sound more like a P bass I would say. None of them sound like a Jazz to my ears. 2 Quote
ghostwheel Posted June 16 Posted June 16 I think it depends on who's playing. Guy Pratt playing his Jazz bass made me longing for Stingray Would you say it sounds like a JB here? Guy Pratt right hand Playing his own disco Bassline 1 Quote
Seadunk Posted June 17 Posted June 17 (edited) I think of Guy Pratt on a Jazz when i think of Disco (Sophie Ellis Bextor) Intro by Alan Braxe, Fred Falke is a really favourite of mine. Theres a guy who does a cover on a Jazz bass and absolutly kills it Edited June 17 by Seadunk 4 Quote

'all in the fingers' n'all that. 1 Quote
