iaint Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Has anyone tried the WD800 with upright bass? Had a shot of a D800+ and really liked it for its relative simplicity but I play upright as well and can't help feeling the WD800 might work better with a less"baked-in" tone possibly and the parametric mid controls handy for problematic rooms. I live in Orkney so getting a shot of a WD800 soon is impossible... Cheers Iain Quote
Burns-bass Posted May 4 Posted May 4 What type of pickup / microphone system are you using? It’s a bass amp with a tube pre amp so should be warm and lovely. Like all amps it’ll take some dialling in I guess. Quote

Paddy Morris Posted Wednesday at 22:18 Posted Wednesday at 22:18 It's a very interesting head for sure. Tons of EQ. I couldn't find anywhere on the Mesa site that stated what the input impedance was. So you might need a preamp to get the best out of your realist. That output damping switch is very interesting. If you do get one the please report back as to how it works out. Mesa stuff always looks gorgeous. Quote

From what I can find, I think it says a min of 1 Mohm, but I think we're ideally looking for 10 for a piezo pickup? Might still need some sort of buffer going into the front end Iain Quote
