simonlittle Posted April 29 Posted April 29 (edited) Selling my Mayones Custom EP 5. Bought last year from Guitar Guitar. Recently set up at The Gallery and sounding fantastic. It’s one of the best sounding basses I’ve ever owned; just wish it had tighter string spacing! Collection from Peckham SE15 preferred, or could potentially meet up somewhere. Would rather not post it. Comes with all the original bits; very swanky semi-rigid gigbag, strap locks, tools, paperwork etc. Weight is about 4.36kg so not too heavy and balances very nicely on a strap. Condition is excellent. One small ding near the jack socket, as shown in one of the pics. Other than that it’s perfect. The only potential trade I’d consider would be a Mayones Jabba Hadrien Feraud Signature 5, preferably in antique brown but possibly one of the more recent yellow models. WinterMute Posted May 20 Posted May 20 Such great basses, but I can't get on with 19mm either, GLWS. 1 Quote

I think it’s because I played Warwick 5-strings for so many years with their tight string spacing. Wasn’t the sound I was ultimately looking for though; which is a particular shame as this bass sounds exactly the way I want but I can’t quite get my hands round it without drastically changing my technique. And of course most Jazz-style 5-stringers have 19mm spacing. My current main 5-string is a Ken Smith Burner which is 17.5mm and much easier for me to get around. I’ll be sad to see this one go though; it sounds amazing Quote

I’ll be sad to see this one go though; it sounds amazing I played a 5 string Thumb for 20 years, just got another one, luckily I love the sound they make. I get on fairly well with MM SR5's and I had Alan at ACG build me a 17mm spaced Krell fretless which is a beauty. I'd love a Pedulla Pentabuzz or a Mark 3 Wal, but the spacing just doesn't work. 1 Quote
