Hi Folks,

Now i know for sure..i am definitely a bass palyer, who only needs 4 strings.
Due to this, i wolud like to trade or sell this awesome one of a kind 5 string jb.

As i have not those big hands, i looked for a 5 string with the playability of a 4 string bass, tested different models and roundabout 30 different fender jazzbasses. the result was this beauty. It is a 2000 USA Fender Jazzbass, ash body, rosewood fingerboard in translucient white.
This bass is really 1 of akind..try to find a 5 string ash body, try to find one in a rare colour. the colour is nearly white and you can see all the beauty of the ash wood through this translucient finish. the bass is looks alomost new. But this is only what the bass looks like..more important, how does the bass sound?
Most interesting thing about a 5 string is..sure the 5th string, some people have prejudices about a Fender Bass and the 5th string, believe me..i taught everybody a lesson with this bass, the B string is really awesome!Clear and defined B, in my band i was tuned down to a and the bass sounded even down there amazing.
Due to the ash body the sound has deep low end and and gives a deep punch in your face, the higher played tones are clear and transparent..remember Marcus Miller uses mostly ash bodys!
If you choose only the Neck Pikcup, the bass goes nearly to a traditional P Bass sound, only bridge pickup and Jaco would be proud.

So to sum it up, this bass is a fantastic demonstration of fine craftsmanship, really in a quality of a masterbuild Fender Bass.
The neck is straight like an arrow, you can play the strings as low as the strings should be, it has a better playability than my 4 string basses,
the b-string is awesome and sounds like the voice of god.The original case is included, also the manual, the original trussrod tool and the hangtags..so this bass is for players an collectors.

this is no sentence to sell the bass, honestly, i am thinking now for weeks about selling the bass. it breaks my heart, because it is such a fine instrument, but for me i do not need the 5th string..when i have to play a gig i always choose my 4 strings.

So now i am open for offers. I will look for money, or for a fine Fender Precision Bass. I am able to value up my bass with money for a old P bass.

I will add further pictures this evening, thanks for reading my words.

Very nice.. I have a one that's similar in Red and they are very good basses. Looks like the tone controls have been changed at some point; is that just the knobs or is it the electronics as well?

Good luck with it...

Hi Silverfoxnik,

only the knobs have changed, the original ones will be included. in my oppinion black knobs look to hard on this white beaty so i ordered at a german luthier those chrome knobs with mother of pearl inlays. This is the only change.

sadly not, i am located in cologne, germany, where the bass could be proofed from head to toe over an ampeg or an carvin b1500.
i just recogniezd that you have here a great community of bassplayers and collectors on this page.

Those MOP knobs really compliment it too.[/quote]

Thank you very much. IN my oppinion the origional black ones look to hard on this bass, the bass looks so immaculate and virgin so every detail hast to be perfect.
So i looked for knobs that will fit this, but all i can find were standards. but i want more for this beauty, i contacted a german luthier and told him, what i was looking for..this is his work and i think these are the knobs are on the right place, but only my oppinion, so for sure the original knobs are included.

I agree with you; the custom ones look much better and are very distinctive!
