70s Humbucker ID?

Howdy all,

Any of your gurus able to ID this humbucker?

I'm curious as it's been plopped into an old Mustang seemingly a long time ago. The poles look remarkably Wal/DiMarzio but I haven't seen a case shape or mount like this before & it has a slight metallic sparkle to it - any ideas at all?

Yep, it does sound stunning though!

Many thanks
Tim

Thanks Bassassin, exactly that - plus the actual case/body has different integral mounts so it's thrown me a bit. First world problem as it sounds great, but would be terrific to know who's behind it . . .

I thought either DiMarzio Model G or Schaller 232, but they're both different underneath & have more rounded corners. Interesting!

+1 on DiMarzio - the 70s model G looks like a near relative from some of the h/w;  but the lack of a cover and the combined fixing/adjustment, and the non-alignment of holes/poles makes me question if the OP one might be an early prototype (coil, pole-pieces & wiring lugs just encapsulated in black resin, within a mold)

(DiMarzio Model G)

...either that, or it's a 'Homer' made with their h/w, by a DiMarzio employee! 😉
