I was at the Supersonic Festival, in Brum, over the weekend. In the marketplace was a guy with some pedals and guitar amps. I had a chat with him about his stuff and it sounded great so I picked up a TODP (Tube Overdrive and Distortion Plus)

Precondition LF cut: B/P or 220Hz

Clipping / Control – germanium, silicon and LED / 2, 4 or no anti-blocking diodes

Load / symmetry – 47KΩ hi clip, 200KΩ low clip, or 100KΩ middle

Recovery LF boost: B/P, 220Hz and 80Hz (1st order)

Recovery boost: 6db / 0dB / 12dB

Only 3 potentiometer controls:

Drive – smooth transition (some models have a wider range)

Filter – Low Pass Filter (2 ranges available, standard or bright)

Volume – Recovery boost allows this to go pretty loud

I asked about modifying the Precondition to drop the cutoff for more bass. He said to try the pedal first then shot him an email and he'll give me all the info I need. Or I can send the pedal up to him to sort. Super nice guy.

I've not played it through an amp yet, just through a preamp pedal and headphones, but it sounds super nice. Gain is from just a little grit to full distortion. I plan for this to be an always on pedal to give my CTMs some nice dirt without stupid sound levels.
