Mayones Jabba Classic V up for sale.

 

I bought it used from bass direct last year for £1700 and have since upgraded the preamp to a John East Uni pre (~£200)

 

Condition is good with a few dings - worst one on the lower bout (pictured) and a small ding on the back/edge of the neck (between the 5th & 6th frets).

Hi there. Can I please ask about the pre-amp upgrade. I know the controls for the John East but is the 2-way switch on the bass now inactive?

The switch toggles between active and passive modes.

So this means the passive tone on the pre amp doesn't push-pull for passive mode. The pickups are single coil or hum-cancelling? I had my heart set on a used Sadowsky but keep coming back to look at this...

That's right, no push-pull on the tone knob, just the switch.

 

The full controls are: VOL - BLEND - BASS/TREBLE (pull for bright) - FREQ SWEEP/MID - TONE - Active/Passive switch

 

The pickups are Aguilar 70's single coils.
