James901 Posted February 19, 2021 Share Posted February 19, 2021 (edited) Hey, I’m considering buying a Sterling Ray 4 and upgrading the pickup and potentially the pre-amp. From the YouTube reviews I’ve watched the biggest complaint appears to be the electronics producing a lot of distortion and not being the best quality. If I switch out the pickup will I see a big improvement in tone or will the onboard pre amp need to be replaced as well? This is my first venture into this as well. That’s good to know 👍 I’m just going by YouTube reviews due to not being able to try one out. I may buy one and see how it plays out of the box. Any major adjustments you had to make?
