A Coruña (SPAIN)

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I put on sale this active Fender Deluxe Jazz Bass 2009 from the American Deluxe series (2004-2009). The price is 1.250£.

It is located in A Coruña (Spain)

The Fender specifications are as follows:

Metallic silver headstock logo

Modern C-shaped, graphite reinforced neck.

Contoured heel for more fret access 5 bolt neckplate with Corona California Fender logo stamped.

Abalone dot fret markers.

Rosewood rolled edge fretboard.

Montego Black paint.

Gold pickguard

Through body or topload bridge.

Hipshot USA made Deluxe Lite-Bass tuning machines.

3 Band Active EQ with 18 volt power supply.

Samarium ™ Cobalt Noiseless Jazz Bass pickups.

Schaller Style Strap Lock Buttons.

Alder body and maple neck, with a 9.5 "radius rosewood fingerboard. The bass is light and really well balanced (3.8kg or less, approx.)

Abalone inlays are just amazing.

The pickups are Fender SCN (Samarium Cobalt Noiseless), with a classic sound without any noise. 3-band EQ and very quiet, with a punchy output.

This pre-2010 Deluxe series has nothing to do with the later one. Only good things are said about its pickups, how balanced and comfortable it is. Depending on the EQ you use, you can have from the most classic and vintage sound to that powerful Marcus Miller sound, while maintaining that quality and sound so familiar from Fender.

The frets have just been luthier to be leveled although the bass has little use, as I have other Passives and I hardly play it. It has not passed through other hands. In fact, he hasn't been out of the house more than a couple of times. It is the real reason why I decided to put it up for sale, even if it costs me to part with it. For that reason it's only for sale, but I'm looking for an Aguilar Tone Hammer 350 or 500. So maybe a trade for Aguilar + money would be possible.

Apart from that I have enough equipment.

As you can see in the images it is very well cared for and treated. The neck behaves perfectly and has a very comfortable action. It's a super versatile bass. Includes its Fender case. The only visible imperfect is a scratch on the pickguard (where you have access to the truss screw) that a luthier made when adjusting the neck and he seemed to find it too much work to unscrew the pickguard. The rest, natural marks of use.

We will discuss and figure out the best way for shipping. No problem, indeed!!

Any questions or doubts do not hesitate to ask me.

Thanks for your time and interest.

Hector doesn't yet have any feedback here on BC, however I've just concluded a sale of a bass cab to him, and I can vouch for him as a good person to deal with. We negotiated a deal for both of us that included shipping between Estonia and Spain, and got into unrelated lovely conversations about bass playing and music that have very pleasantly 'used up' more time than the deal itself. I have no doubt any purchaser of his bass would find dealing with him straight forward; he was very understanding of an issue with the cab packaging that was entirely my fault.

Hector is also a humble, yet extremely capable piano player and musician. ;) (sorry mate, had to say it).

Thank you for your words Mike.

Regarding to Humility, I think that is one of the best "feedback" we can get from music.

It was a pleasure to deal with you too.

I'm not sure if I mentioned, but shipping costs would be like 50£ or 60£ depending on where is the new home for this bass.

We can discuss it further and see the best options to get a good final price. No problem at all.

tonight I decided to do a little comparison between two great bass preamps.
I've received the Trickfish Minnow today and I must say it's an amazing piece of gear.
The Radial thought remains an impressive preamp too.

      The basses used were:
       - Fbass Bn5 ash maple
      - Fender Precision custom shop L series

Please be kind with my playing abilities

Which one did you like the most ?

I'm looking to move on my Sansamp BD Deluxe Programmable DI - great sound, I just don't need all the programmable functions. Never gigged and in pretty much as new condition.
Would consider trades with cash either way for a Sansamp BDDI V2, or some of the similar Darkglass Pedals.

Any questions, give me a shout

Due to the Covid-19 situation and severe back problems (66% officially disabled because of it) plus right shoulder injury (non-operable capsulitis from which, after more than 3 years, I will never fully recover), I'm selling all my basses over 4 kilos and also the ones I'm not really using. I've also considerably lowered the price for a quick sale.
VANZANDT (VAN ZANDT) JBV-R1 Vintage Natural, Japanese craftsmanship at its best, a true Custom Shop.
Asking price including shipping fully insured with tracking number to your place in these European countries (ask for other countries) : Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France (excluding French overseas departments and territories), Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Monaco, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and United Kingdom : £1299 GBP !!! New price is 308.000 JPY (with the 10% Japanese VAT) and they are not officially exported !
Shipping to United Kingdom is, of course, possible, but with an extra customs fee (VAT + other taxes + courier fee), because U.K. is now outside EEC.
In fully working condition with light use and very few marks.
      Here are the specifications :

Neck : one piece maple bolt on with skunk stripe
Fingerboard : one piece maple with white perloid block inlays and white binding
      Frets : 20 (radius 210 mm or 8.25 inches)

      Year : 2015
      Weight : 4.375 kilos
Action : from 1.5 mm under the G string to 2 mm under the E string at 12th fret (can go lower, but was perfect for me)
Will come with a brand new Fame Soft-Case Urban.
      Non-smoking environment as usual.
The bass has been fully set up professionally. It has been fitted with a set of Ernie Ball 2833 Hybrid Slinky strings (45 - 65 - 85 -105).
For those who don't know Vanzandt (Van Zandt) instruments, they are the equivalent of Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt instruments, if not better. The Japanese higher quality control and craftsmanship make all the difference here. It's a no flaw construction. This bass is, to me, better than all the official Fender 70's Jazz Basses I have played. Compared to a Celinder J-Update in passive mode, the sound is a bit clearer, but very similar. Thanks to the (more fragile) nitrocellulose lacquer, the overall feel is similar to a vintage original Fender. And this tone control is simply magic !

What you see is what you get !
Look at the photos taken at different angles and under different lights to see the real condition of this bass which shows little use and only very few slight marks or dings. The biggest "blemishes" being at the headstock and near the control plate on the edge of the body where the (very fragile) nitrocellulose finish has gone.
Here you can see the "blemishes" that I photographed alongside the 37 photos of this bass (the last photo showing Vanzandt full serial number in the neck pocket and the back of the heel's neck was taken by Régis aka @eneade ) : https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1KRjjhRGOfqWGq_PprTTB6UF-5EAAEYxO?usp=sharing
