Started guitar when I was 19 (all those years ago!!), but moved to bass after a few years, because everyone wants to be a guitar hero, and not many want to play bass (plus I'm a better bassist than a guitarist!! ). Must've been fate - my dad was a bass player too. In fact my bass is one of his mid-70s Precisions that he gave me. Haven't got an amp yet - only moved here 10 months ago... But am looking for something cheap with enough balls for a gig... Was using a Jansen Barbarian (for those who know Kiwi amps) when I was playing in a rock covers band in NZ.. Hope you're settling in fine - well, you've got your bass and you're in a band and that's what counts. Plenty of amps for sale in the relevant forum and lots of discussion about the merits or otherwise of the various makes available in the UK. Have a good time and enjoy the forum!
