How to add a second input for mp3 etc

I recently bought a Roland bass cube 100, its absolutely brilliant apart from
the fact it only has a single input. I tried a splitter plug but it kills the
guitar signal when you plug the MP3 player or PC into it, im guessing
its a impedance problem.
Is there a way to add another input?

You need a line level input for the MP3 really. The instrument input is far to sensitive as it goes through a pre amp.

You will need to take it apart, bypass the pre amp inorder to install a line level input.

Possible but will void any warranty and you need to have some savvy about electronics .

... but the amp EQ would effect both bass and MP3s.

If the amp has an Effects Send & Return you could take the bass out from the Effects Send, mix in the MP3s with either a small mixer or even a passive resistor network and then retun the mixed signal to the FX return.

Im not too worried about the EQ levels of the MP3.
There is no effects loop on this amp only Recording out, EXT Speaker,
Line out, Tuner out and Balanced out. Lots of outs but only 1 in ;)

Im happy to build something from a schematic.
