It's actually their overdrive and for a long time the CM-2 was labeled as 'tube overdrive' (The Hardwire SC-2 was their distortion pedal in the range. The CM-2 has quite a wide range of gain on it which is possibly the reason they changed the name. I have used it on both guitar and bass. Great sounding pedal with really good build quality for not a lot of sheckles.
