therealting Posted January 17, 2016 Share Posted January 17, 2016 This week, in a long overdue clutter- and gear-reduction exercise, three basses and one guitar left my possession (with the provisional sale of three more also agreed), with only one coming in... but what an entry! The new (to me) Olympic White Dingwall Super J 5-string (right) is an almost perfect hybrid of the Fender Modern Player Jazz (top left) and Dingwall Combustion (bottom left) that made way for it. It's had an aftermarket preamp fitted (J-Retro is my guess), and I think it was purchase me from a Basschatter, so someone may know. Much more comfortable to me with 35-32" rather than 37-34", and happily Colgraff was looking to go the other way. A gentleman to deal with! Can't wait to try this one out in anger on a gig...
